Official Press Release

As my brother revealed slightly less calmly on his site, we have in fact been contacted by the Ryman campaign and we have accepted their offer to act as the primary press agents on the campaign. I'm excited for this development, and I believe this will be an amazing opportunity for us and for the continuing project of the maturation of online journalism.

San Diego Day 1

Shaun and I arrived in San Diego this morning on a fact-finding trip and to meet up with some friends of ours who we've spoken with several times over the web. Sean, of course, wanted to run right out and start whacking zombies with hockey sticks, but we had a dinner to attend and then an evening out at some of the local hotspots. Mom and Dad alerted some other newsfolk that their kids would be in town, and we got a little attention, but nothing too extreme. Mindy and Rob, the bloggers we're meeting here in town, have been amazing hosts so far and this trip is already shaping up to be far superior to last year's infamous San Diego trip.

The interesting thing about San Diego is the reclamation project they're attempting. Everyone has heard of the walls, of course: concentric rings of concrete, one built around the heavily invested downtown, one around the suburbs that were gradually cleared out over the years. But the less-publicized actions of the residents of San Diego are what we're more interested in: first, an unusually well-funded and designed cleansing program for the downtown area and second, a controversial research station, set within the inner walls, that is attempting to find a way to cure the disease. Protested by worried survivors and religious protestors alike, this research station is the eventual end destination for this trip. We have been reliably informed that the station has not responded to attempts at communication for three weeks. We intend to figure out what happened there and report back to you.

The city government has expressed not-so-silent disapproval of both our exposure of the loss of contact and our entire expedition, but we've got backing from the state and we will be allowed in. As always, it's going to be a dangerous expedition, but Shaun will have my back and I'm sure we'll make it through, as always.
